Daily Journal for Intentional Teachers

Are you feeling it too? The overwhelm, the burnout, the extreme exhaustion? We are over 2 years into this pandemic and our whole world has changed except the classroom. We are still expected to teach all the curriculum, manage student escalated behaviours and teach specific grade-level content when students are nowhere near ready. I’m feeling it for sure.

I wanted to share how I’ve been managing my expectations of my classroom and of myself and to be honest, it’s really helped me.

I’ve been using my Intentional Teacher Journal I created back in August 2020 all before this crazy COVID mess. Now I feel like we all need this planner to focus on our intentions, who we want to be as teachers daily and take small steps towards our goals throughout the year.

The Planners

I have created 2 different versions. The first is a once-per-day journal to focus on how you are feeling, your goals, and focusing on what kind of teacher you want to be today.

The second one is a before school and after school reflection. In the morning, you reflect on how you are feeling, your yearly goals, and focusing on what kind of teacher you want to be today. After school, the journal prompts you to reflect on how you felt most of the day, what went well, what didn’t go well and how can you fix it tomorrow, what you are proud of and what is something you missed or forgot to do and need to focus on tomorrow.

Please download which one you think you would use, OR BOTH, and print them out for a week. See how you feel after a week of filling out the Intentional Teachers Journal.

I hope it helps you as it has helped me!
