For this school year, I’m going to focus on real-world learning and leadership in my classroom. Many of the leaders we talk about in schools such as Martin Luther King Jr. have been talked about year after year and aren’t that connected to our students because it happened in the past.

I wanted to create a resource with current leaders that our students can relate to and see themselves in.

So Kid Leaders was born.

The Kid Leaders’ resource features:

  • 40+ diverse kids

  • ranging in age from 4 years old to late teens

  • year-long resource (one kid/week)

Each kid leader has a page listing their age, where they were born, and what they are known for. It also has a quote and 3 links to either articles, websites, twitter accounts, Instagram accounts, or youtube videos. This resource is focused on getting students to focus on leadership traits and how our students will try to use the leadership qualities they see in these youth leaders. Some of the topics that are discussed are LGBTQ, climate change, homelessness, Black Lives Matter, gun control, water and so much more!

Check out this awesome year-long resource here. Or check out my Teachers Pay Teachers store here.

I know this is an awesome resource for your classroom. I’m so excited to use it in mine this year!
